Pros

Cons

1)       uncontrolled information

2.       Reading a diary

Read the diary of Part A (page 41).  See if you can find out the answers to these questions:

1)       What is the writer’s feeling?  (The writer felt tired, but happy.  He also admired the boy he debated against.)

2)       What is the writer’s attitude to the Internet?  (He is sure that if people use the Internet in an intelligent manner, the Internet can be a good tool.)

3.       Identifying linking verbs

Underline all the linking verbs used in the diary.  If you are not sure about it, study the explanation on page 40 by yourselves.

Have my students read out the passage and give the class the answer.  Analyse some uses of the linking verbs if necessary.

Have my students finish Part B (page 41) by themselves.  Then check the answers in class.
